The Art of Listening: Exclusive Hand-Painted Loudspeakers by Carsten Beck In Collaboration with Raidho Acoustics

Danish/international visual artist Carsten Beck has entered into an exclusive collaboration with the internationally acclaimed loudspeaker manufacturer Raidho Acoustics. The result is an extraordinary fusion of graphic, minimalist lines and uncompromising sound quality — a series of hand-painted Raidho XT 2.6 loudspeakers, where art, technology, and sound come together in perfect harmony.

This collaboration stems from a shared fascination with form, materiality, and spatial experience. From their very first meetings, it was clear that both Carsten Beck and Raidho Acoustics shared an ambition to create something that transcends the traditional boundaries between function and aesthetics. Both parties operate with precision and an uncompromising approach in their respective fields — Beck through his stringent, graphic works and Raidho through their audio engineering masterpieces — and it is precisely this meeting of minds that laid the foundation for the project.

The process has been marked by close collaboration and mutual respect for craftsmanship. Beck spent extensive time in the workshop working with the raw cabinets from Raidho, experimenting with line work, composition, and color choices that would both respect the function of the speaker and enhance its aesthetic appeal. The graphic design is meticulously tailored to the speaker’s proportions, materials, and surface textures, with each set hand-painted directly onto the cabinet.

“I was inspired by architecture captured through my camera, by the lines and angles of the speaker, and by the way sound moves through a space. It’s been a unique experience to work directly on an object that serves both as a source of sound and as an artistic canvas. The process has been intuitive, yet grounded in deep respect for the technical masterpiece that the speaker represents,” says Carsten Beck.

For Raidho Acoustics, the project offered an opportunity to merge their technological expertise with a powerful artistic expression. Already known for their refined finish and exceptional sound quality, the speakers have now been placed in a new context — one where their visual design becomes an active part of the listening experience.
